Bruce is a partner at Aptec Group, an engineering team that specializes in technical due diligence for software, hardware, and information companies and their investors. A core tenet at Aptec is that with the rapid rate of technological innovation, it is critical for the partners to continue building solutions, not just critique them. Bruce has helped build database mining applications for food companies, statistical and machine learning systems for early detection of Alzheimer, wearable medical devices, glucose monitoring, object detection and classification for video systems, image analysis and understanding systems for OCR, hardware and firmware for high performance wireless communication testing systems, firmware for compact and low-power civilian and military air traffic control radios, and numerous other projects. He has extensive experience in patent research and has been an expert witness, and has worked in finance. He has acted as transitional engineering manager, and was CTO of a successful computer telecommunications company that he co-founded. His passion is building useful and innovative products with energized teams, trying to make the world a better and more interesting place.
Bruce earned his Ph.D., EE, and M.S. degrees from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and his S.B. degree (summa cum laude) from Harvard. He was on the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science faculty at MIT for 8 years before shifting his career to the commercial sector.
